Dato’ Mathialakan Chelliah

Dato’ Mathialakan Chelliah, is our Independent Non-Executive Chairman. He was appointed to our Board on 21 April 2022.

Dato’ Mathialakan obtained a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Malaya in 1980.

He began his career with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (“MIDA”) under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Malaysia (“MITI”), as an Economist in 1981. He headed MIDA’s overseas offices in Zurich, Berne, Milan and London to promote Malaysia as a potential investment location for European companies. He retired in 2014 as an Executive Director after 33 years of service at MIDA.

He was appointed as an advisor of Ernst & Young Malaysia in 2018, where he continues to be responsible for providing insights and advice on governmental policies and liaising with government authorities and regulators.
